Hi, I’m Elinor Jayne, a photographer with a passion for capturing the world’s most genuine moments.
Photography isn’t just about taking a picture for me—it’s about telling a story. I like to find beauty in those quiet moments that can be so easily overlooked. Whether it’s a smile, a spontaneous interaction, or the subtle elegance of everyday life, I’m drawn to those natural instances that reveal something deeper. For me, those are the moments worth preserving.
I grew up in the sunny, laid-back atmosphere of Tenerife, surrounded by the island’s stunning landscapes and warm, vibrant culture. That’s where my love for photography started, whether it was days out at the beach, nights out with friends, or family gatherings, I was always the one snapping photos to capture the memories. The beauty of the island was impossible to ignore, and it didn’t take long for me to realize how much I loved preserving those moments.
Over the years, I’ve moved around a fair bit—living in different places has given me a wide-ranging perspective on the world and deepened my appreciation for the things that make each place unique. But now, I’m settled in the peaceful and picturesque Suffolk, where I’ve found the perfect balance of nature, quiet moments, and inspiration for my work.
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. But becoming a mum has made it even more meaningful. Through motherhood, I’ve learned to truly appreciate the fleeting nature of time. I know how easy it is for those little moments to slip away, and that’s why I’m so dedicated to capturing them for others. I believe in keeping things simple, letting the moments speak for themselves. Each photo is a reflection of the time we spent together, a snapshot of a story uniquely yours.
This summer, I’ll be starting my second year of photography with the Open College of the Arts (OCA). My first year was filled with exploration and growth. It’s been exciting to learn more about composition, lighting, and storytelling, and I’m really looking forward to diving deeper into conceptual photography in the coming year. My goal is to continue developing my voice as an artist and to experiment with new techniques, pushing the boundaries of what photography can communicate.
I’m also excited to share some of my work and stories through my website, www.thetruthinframe.com. It’s a place where I dive into the heart of everyday life, capturing moments that often go unnoticed and telling stories that matter. The site focuses on photojournalism, with articles, interviews, and personal projects that explore the beauty in the ordinary.
In addition to my photography practice, I’m currently focusing on expanding my print sales, with a special emphasis on showcasing the beauty of Suffolk. My aim is to create stunning prints, cards, and other products that allow people to bring a piece of my art into their homes.
One of the things I’m particularly passionate about is Cyanotype photography. My journey into cyanotype printing has been a transformative experience, allowing me to connect with both the history and the magic of photography. Cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic processes, uses sunlight to create rich, blue-tinted prints that feel timeless and uniquely organic. For me, it’s more than just a technique—it’s a way of bringing something old and raw into the present. The process is slow and deliberate, requiring patience and a keen eye for detail, but the results are always rewarding. As I continue to experiment with this process, I’m drawn to its unpredictability and the way it turns simple objects into works of art, each with its own narrative. Cyanotype allows me to step away from the digital world and embrace the tactile beauty of photography, offering a new way to explore and capture the world around me. As I continue exploring Cyanotype, I plan to incorporate it more into my work and display these pieces in future exhibitions.
Speaking of displaying my photographs, it’s been a dream of mine to share my photography in a more public way, and I’m thrilled to see this coming to life. I’m really looking forward to sharing my creative journey with others and seeing how people respond to the art.
Balancing motherhood, work, my photography business, and my studies isn’t always easy, but it’s what fuels me. Photography is my passion, and it allows me to connect with others and share something meaningful. I’m so grateful for the opportunities to grow as an artist and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
Thank you for being a part of this adventure with me. I’m excited to continue capturing special moments and sharing my love for photography with you all. Stay tuned for upcoming exhibitions and new print releases—I can’t wait to show you more!
